Abstract

Banten's economy based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices based on quarter I-2019 reached Rp 159.83 trillion and on the basis of constant prices in 2010 reached Rp 110.86 trillion.

Banten's economy in quarter I-2019 against quarter I-2018 grew 5.42 percent (y-on-y) slowing compared to the quarter I-2018 achievement of 5.84 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Construction Business Field at 8.98 percent. In terms of expenditure, the Non-Profit Institution Consumption Component grew by 7.38 percent.

Banten's economy in quarter I-2019 compared to the previous quarter contracted by 0.38 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the slowdown in growth was caused by contractions that occurred in several business fields. While in terms of expenditure, the slowdown was caused by, among others, a contraction in the Component of Government Consumption and Gross Fixed Capital Formation.

The economic structure of the Provinces in Java in Quarter I-2019 is still dominated by DKI Jakarta Province which contributes to the Gross Regional Domestic Product in Java of 29.94 percent, followed by East Java Province at 24.69 percent, West Java Province for 22.42 percent. Meanwhile, Banten Province contributed 7.03 percent.
