Abstract

1. In May 2024 there was year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Serang City of 2.64 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.23.

2. Y-on-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase in almost all expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverage and tobacco group by 6.14 percent; personal care and other services group by 5.76 percent; health group by 2.03 percent; transportation group by 1.73 percent; education group by 1.59 percent; food and beverage supply group by 0.73 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.65 percent; information, communication and financial services group by 0.54 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.51 percent.

3. The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate of Serang City in May 2024 were 0.47 percent and 1.79 percent, respectively.
